Network Engineer

£500 a day Umbrella - Inside IR35

London - 2 days a week on-site

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a strategic network segmentation and application migration programme.

Summary

• Design: Create secure network zones using VLANs, subnets, and software-defined networking (SDN).
• Policy Enforcement: Write and manage Firewall rules, access control lists (ACLs), and micro-segmentation policies.
• Traffic Analysis: Monitor data flow to ensure security policies do not break business applications.
• Risk Mitigation: Isolate critical assets, IoT devices, and Legacy systems from the main corporate network.
• Collaboration: Work with security teams to respond to incidents and audit network boundaries.

Essential

• 5+ years' experience in enterprise network engineering.
• Strong understanding of:
  • TCP/IP Networking
  • Routing and switching
  • Firewall technologies
  • Network segmentation and security principles
  • Application connectivity and traffic analysis
• Experience performing application dependency mapping and topology analysis.
• Experience producing low-level and high-level network designs.
• Experience planning and executing enterprise infrastructure changes.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
