Network Engineer

Just a quick note before you read on, to be considered for this role you either need to hold current SC Clearance or have lived continuously in the UK for the past 5 years to be eligible to apply for SC Clearance.

In this role you can expect to be responsible for handling incidents, resolving problems, accommodating change requests, and contributing to various projects based on our customers' requirements. Your expertise encompasses troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting a diverse range of systems. You understand the importance to meet service level agreements consistently. Your ability to work independently without supervision is valued. You're good at effectively prioritising and managing multiple open issues simultaneously, paying meticulous attention to detail.

These are the platforms you'll champion:

  • Secure application gateways / reverse proxies
  • DHCP / MPLS/ VPLS, DNS (BIND & Microsoft DNS), voice/video integration - SIP, IP-PBX, SBC.
  • Cisco / HP Core and Edge Networking
  • Cisco Firewall technologies (ASA / Firepower)
  • Cisco VPN Solutions
  • Citrix
  • Fortinet
  • Meraki

Experience that would make you a great fit for the role includes:

  • Strong/Expert knowledge in virtualisation technologies such as VMWare
  • Strong working knowledge of proactive monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
  • Proven architect knowledge, design and project implementation
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP Qualified
  • Experience with network security such as certificate management in applications
  • Experience with PowerShell and scripting
  • Willing to learn how software tools can be implemented and support engineering development activities
