This is a 15+ year-old specialist search firm operating across Hedge Funds, Prop Trading Houses, Systematic Funds and Investment Banks. They're 30 people across 9 practice areas – all finance and investment adjacent – and they're consistently ranked top 2 or 3 in the markets they operate in.
Their Trading Technology desk sits within a wider Quant Strats & Trading Tech practice of 10 people, billing circa $3m. The team is lean – just 3 consultants – with their top biller doing $1m personally. They need someone with experience to come in and help drive execution, particularly across US Software Engineering and Infrastructure.
Clients:
- Tier 1 Buy-Side – Hedge Funds, Systematic Funds, Prop Trading Houses
- Placing Quant Developers, Software Engineers, Infrastructure and Data Science professionals
- Strong, long-standing client relationships with weekly hiring calls
- Working across Europe and the US – with a particular gap and opportunity in the US market
The Role?
- Base salary up to £60k + commission up to 40%
- Average fees of £60k / $84k – with top performers billing £600k–£900k+ annually
- No fee splits, no AM fees – you run your own desk
- 1 day WFH for experienced hires
- Office, Central London
Commission Structure (Yearly, Paid on Invoice):
- £50–100k billed: 15%
- £100–200k: 27.5%
- £200–300k: 32.5%
- £300–400k: 37.5%
- £400k+: 40%
What They're Looking For:
- 1–5 years' experience in recruitment
- Ideally Buy-Side Tech, FinTech or Finance Technology background – outside of that, the bar is higher
- Comfortable executing across Quant Development, Software Engineering and Infrastructure
