Audio Visual Business Development Manager

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a career focused Audio Visual Business Development Manager to join a leading technology company selling workplace technology via Consultants, Architects and Specifiers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business for our client, primarily in London and the South East but you may also have the opportunity to be involved in global opportunities led from or involving the UK office.

This is primarily a field based role however regular attendance at the office in Central London would also be required.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Primary:

  • Monitor sources of market intelligence to identify potential opportunities
  • Identify relevant consultants, architects, designers and specifiers in the corporate marketplace and work with them to develop new business in workplace technology.
  • Attend networking events and trade shows
  • Explore each potential opportunity to identify targets to contact
  • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts from each opportunity
  • Align yourself with key personnel within the manufacturer and distributor supply chain for effective account growth, information sharing and obtaining referral opportunities
  • Actively contribute to and maintain CRM system
  • Identify potential client requirements and provide information and collateral to suit
  • Generate and issue sales proposal documents
  • Research emerging technology and future trends to demonstrate market knowledge to potential clients
  • Explore areas of technology innovation and identify potential areas of service differentiation

Based in Central London salary is to £60k-£65k p.a. with uncapped commission giving an OTE of £80k + but the right salesperson will be able to double or even triple their basic salary with the right effort and attitude.

Your skills and experience

  • Business development experience in a ‘hunter type role with Consultants, Architects and Specifiers in workplace technology.
  • Strong knowledge of the Audio Visual sector, key manufacturers and contacts
  • Excellent communication and grammatical skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and be resourceful
  • Ability to manage own time effectively
  • Used to working against and consistently achieving targets
  • Highly presentable and articulate
  • Ideally, the successful candidate will also have an existing database of contacts in architecture, project management, cost consultancy and end user organisations.
