Events Project Manager - Audio Visual Technical Drawer

The Opportunity

This role is all about project delivery — from supporting larger teams with the design and build of exhibits, to taking smaller events through the entire process, from initial design to final delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial, technical and financial understanding, enabling them to manage projects directly, achieve profitability targets, and maintain commercial integrity across all assigned projects.

The Day-to-Day

  • Act as the main client liaison for operational delivery, attending pre-event meetings, conference calls and other communications to plan, execute and deliver projects
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers to obtain quotations, including negotiating requirements and rates for purchases and hires
  • Manage on-site installations with the support of the Production Manager or Technicians
  • Critically evaluate technical and creative ideas, drawing on data and input from others as well as personal experience and knowledge
  • Monitor and coordinate logistics to ensure equipment and staff are on-site when required
  • Produce health safety documents, equipment lists, plans and cable calls for all events
  • Work collaboratively with the Warehouse Manager on inventory, ensuring equipment is in good working condition, and explain hire equipment to clients and staff
  • Communicate between technical, production, operational and warehouse teams regarding equipment and crew requirements
  • Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings and floor plans for AV and lighting productions across venues, stages and event spaces
  • Create lighting plots, rigging plans and equipment layouts
  • Build 3D visualisations and pre-visualisations of event spaces and lighting designs
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained on the premises and at events
  • Keep up to date with the latest products and services to enhance the company's offering

Based in Middlesex, salary is circa £50k p.a. doe plus overtime and benefits

Your Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working within a production agency environment
  • Extensive experience of live events, both in an operational and management capacity
  • A self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple clients, both internally and externally
  • Good technical understanding of audio-visual equipment used in events, including data, rigging and power distribution
  • Experience with DB audio technik array processing, LED displays, media servers and video processing systems
  • Knowledge of rental management software, Current RMS
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively across teams to achieve success
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Capture, SketchUp and WYSIWYG is preferable
  • Due to the nature of the industry, flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings, is required
