Audio Visual Technician

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The AV Technician provides support and management of fully integrated conference rooms, boardrooms, and large complex environments such as auditoriums. The Technician interfaces daily with the customer and acts as an extension of the team. The Technician cooperates with the customer’s management team to support their equipment and user community. This position is a key part of the overall relationship between AVI-SPL and the customer, ensuring the needs of the client are prioritised and met per project and support goals. The AV Technician will also be required to provide end-user training to the client personnel and should be confident when presenting to all levels of customers, possess excellent communication skills, and understand AV systems and technology.

The Onsite Support Technician will work in partnership with the customer, management team, global helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

  • Setup, management and support of user Events / Meetings.
  • Takes ownership of local break-fix issues, reporting to the relevant AV Helpdesk where applicable.
  • Performs new firmware / device testing across a range of infrastructure.
  • Ongoing management / administration of Incidents / Requests in Servicenow.
  • Work closely with AVI-SPL Helpdesk and field service engineers, where required.
  • Provide business-as-usual support & basic training to internal and external clients.
  • Ensure all equipment onsite is maintained and kept in working order with all faults reported via the onsite procedures.
  • Liaising with remote offices with respect to the setup of video conferencing calls.
  • Maintain total confidentiality relating to information received for presentations and broadcasts etc.

Work Experience

  • Must have full understanding of how to operate AV equipment as needed with emphasis on Zoom, Teams, Logi, NEAT, Poly and Digital Signage platforms.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of audiovisual integration experience.
  • Able to perform routine testing and general operation for VC systems, projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, LED Walls, Digital Signage and other AV equipment.
  • Ability to perform first line AV related testing, troubleshooting, and first fix for AV equipment.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to learn and teach new technologies.
  • Be organised and flexible with the ability to approach different types of tasks during the working day.
  • Excellent customer service skills with previous experience of dealing with ‘ALL’ level executives advantageous with demonstrable previous experience.
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure is essential.
  • Capable of good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Be able to work to the highest quality standards with attention to detail ensuring that we complete our work thoroughly, never walking away from a problem.

Preferred Skills

  • Be organised and flexible with the ability to approach different types of tasks during the working day.
  • Excellent customer service skills with previous experience of dealing with ‘ALL’ level executives.
  • Being able to prioritise and work under pressure is essential.

  • Willing to undertake training and examinations to improve their technical knowledge.

Overtime:

  • Occasional Out of Hours work and/or Bank Holiday work may be required. Overtime can be claimed by prior arrangement and must be accurately logged and communicated.
