DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring the reliability and performance of our cloud infrastructure, and collaborating with development teams to enhance software deployment processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development, system administration, and cloud computing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub.
  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline software deployment processes and improve system reliability.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
  • Automate configuration management and deployment processes using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using monitoring tools such as New Relic or Splunk.
  • Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested.
  • Develop scripts for automation using languages such as Python, Bash (Unix shell), or PowerShell.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Participate in incident management and response activities to resolve issues promptly.

Experience

The successful candidate should have experience with the following technologies and practices:
  • Containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Web servers including NGINX, Tomcat, Weblogic, or JBoss.
  • Databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or DynamoDB.
  • Programming languages including JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, Go, C#, or .NET.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like SVN or Git.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with system administration on Linux or Windows Server environments.
