SALARY: £40,000 to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits

LOCATION: Fully Remote / Homebased

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Compliance Officer supporting GDPR, information governance, regulatory compliance and audit readiness across a growing organisation.

As a Compliance Officer you will maintain compliance trackers, controlled documentation and evidence for ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and NHS DSPT requirements, working across IT, HR and operational teams.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Compliance Officer include:

  • GDPR and Data Protection: Maintain RoPA records, DPIA and DSAR trackers, data sharing records and breach logs
  • ISO Documentation: Maintain ISO 27001 ISMS and ISO 9001 documentation, registers, version control and audit trails
  • NHS DSPT Support: Coordinate annual DSPT evidence, validate records and track gaps and actions against toolkit assertions
  • Audit Readiness: Gather and organise evidence, coordinate internal and external audits and track findings through to closure
  • Compliance Tracking: Maintain risk registers, action logs and compliance trackers, identifying gaps and driving actions to completion
  • Governance Reporting: Produce compliance dashboards, management information, status updates and evidence for governance reporting
  • Training and Assurance: Monitor mandatory training, coordinate awareness activity and support supplier due diligence and security assurance
  • Regulatory Change: Track emerging regulatory and legislative requirements and support updates to policies, procedures and compliance records

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience in a compliance, information governance, audit or similar support role
  • Good understanding of GDPR and data protection principles
  • Experience maintaining structured documentation, registers, trackers, records or audit evidence
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
  • Experience coordinating tasks across multiple teams or stakeholders
  • Confident working with IT, HR and operational teams
  • Good Microsoft 365 skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel

DESIRABLE

  • Experience supporting ISO 27001, ISO 9001 or similar management systems
  • Experience contributing to NHS DSPT submissions
  • Exposure to DPIAs, DSARs, data sharing agreements, incident management or audit processes
  • Knowledge of information security or quality management principles
  • Experience within healthcare, NHS or another regulated environment
  • Information governance, compliance, audit or relevant professional qualifications
