IT Field Services Engineer / Infrastructure Support Engineer

Onsite IT Field Support Engineer with advanced routing, network and Wi-Fi networking skills and excellent infrastructure and troubleshooting experience is required to provide onsite deskside technical support at an educational establishment for a multi award-winning Managed Service Provider based in the City of London.

SALARY: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + Benefits (see below)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Onsite IT Field Support Engineerwith advanced routing, network and Wi-Fi networking skills and excellent infrastructure and troubleshooting experience.

Working as an Onsite IT Field Support Engineer you will work at a dedicated client site (an educational establishment with sites based in London) throughout the week providing face-to-face technical support of the infrastructure, alongside 1st and 2nd line support.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Onsite IT Field Support Engineer include:

  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and security of networks and associated systems (listed below), ensuring they are reliable, secure, and aligned with best practice IT governance
  • Ensure systems remain current through regular updates and adherence to industry standards
  • Provide training and support to users and team members on all aspects of the networks and associated systems
  • Where appropriate, delegate routine management tasks to other team members to ensure efficient operations and knowledge sharing
  • Provide Deskside technical support to end users. Log and classify incidents and requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Microsoft desktop operating systems
  • Support new starter and leaver process with software and hardware requirements
  • Troubleshoot (and resolve) and/or escalate issues reported in relation to customer specific business applications. Escalate to software vendors and liaise with them as and when required
  • Manage your time effectively to achieve the best productivity during the day /week
  • Provide customers with regular updates using the appropriate channels and the company service management platform
  • Ensure the ticket’s information are always of the highest standard (both, detail and quality of the written information)
  • Follow Company processes for Incident Management, Service Request Fulfilment, Change Management and Problem Management
  • Stay abreast and adhere to ITIL framework (policies and procedures) - make effective use of systems to support quality and efficiency - demonstrate what good looks like to you
