SALARY: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum DOE + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Hybrid. Working 4 days from client sites or the City of London office (Farringdon / Chancery Lane EC1N) and 1 day from home

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an IT Field Support Engineer / Onsite Second Line Technician to join a dynamic managed services team supporting clients across Central London.

As an IT Field Support Engineer / Onsite Second Line Technician you will deliver onsite and remote IT support, troubleshooting Windows 10 and 11, macOS, Office 365 and Azure environments while maintaining strong customer relationships.

The IT Field Support Engineer / Onsite Second Line Technician will travel to client sites, implement IT strategies, support cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity and infrastructure projects, and ensure systems remain secure, optimised and aligned with best practice.

DUTIES

Your duties as the IT Field Support Engineer / Onsite Second Line Technician include:

  • Onsite IT Support: Deliver professional technical support across client sites, resolving hardware, software and infrastructure issues
  • Remote Troubleshooting: Provide responsive remote IT support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and cloud platforms
  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Support Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams and Intune environments
  • Systems Support: Maintain and troubleshoot Windows 10 and 11 and macOS devices
  • Server & Directory Management: Support Active Directory, DNS and DHCP within Windows server environments
  • Network Support: Configure and troubleshoot WiFi, firewalls and routers to ensure reliable connectivity
  • Cloud & Security: Assist with Azure Virtual Desktop, multi-factor authentication, conditional access and compliance policies
  • Email Management: Manage email routing, third-party spam filters and mail tracing
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate records and contribute to the technical knowledge base
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor, delivering clear communication and exceptional customer service

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience in professional IT support within a managed services or corporate IT environment
  • Proven experience of troubleshooting Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Intune
  • Experience supporting Windows server technologies including Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
  • Understanding of networking principles including WiFi, firewalls and routers
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop and cloud computing environments
  • Understanding of cybersecurity controls including multi-factor authentication and conditional access
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and resolving printer or hardware issues
  • Microsoft Certifications, particularly cloud ones such as MD-102 and MS-700
  • CompTIA A+, Network+
