Business Development Executive

Business Development Executive - Hospitality

Hybrid (Kings Cross / Remote) | £35k base + £10-20k realistic commission | 4-day week option

If you love the buzz of a professional kitchen and you're at your best when you're talking to chefs, this is one of those rare sales roles where the product genuinely does what it says on the tin - no smoke and mirrors, no overblown promises, just something that makes kitchen teams' lives easier from day one.

We're working with a long-standing hospitality supplier that's making serious waves. Their flagship solution is already being used by major hotels and restaurant groups across the UK, and chefs are obsessed with the time, waste and stress it saves. Now they want someone who can take that excitement and turn it into even more growth.

What the job actually looks like

Think of this as part sales, part educator.

You'll be:

  • Chatting with chefs, GMs, owners and kitchen teams: everyone from the decision-maker to the kitchen porter who'll actually use the kit.
  • Following up warm interest (and there's a lot of it), then building your own pipeline on top.
  • Getting yourself into kitchens and showing people in real life how the solution works.
  • Running demos, telling stories, and showing people the practical, everyday wins rather than "selling" at them.
  • Solving problems on the spot - sometimes that means pointing out that a shelf needs to move for the kit to work perfectly, and doing it with enough confidence that they say "fair point".

Who this would really suit

You don't need to have been a chef - though if you have, chefs will love you instantly. What you do need is:

  • B2B sales experience: enough to know the rhythm, the objections, the process.
  • Confidence around strong personalities: kitchens are busy, loud and full of people who don't mince their words.
  • A feel for hospitality: how a kitchen runs, what matters to chefs, how to speak their language.
  • Presentation confidence: sometimes you'll be demoing to a group.
  • A storyteller's style rather than a hard sell. This product converts because it works. Your job is to show that in a way they can picture instantly.
  • A bit of passion for sustainability: it's part of the team's culture and the product's impact.

What you get back

  • £35k salary + a very realistic £10-20k commission
  • Hybrid setup: 2 days in Kings Cross, the rest from home
  • Option for a 4-day week (salary pro rata)
  • A tight, supportive team that celebrates wins
  • A solution you'll actually enjoy selling - because chefs love it and the difference is obvious within minutes
