COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS SOLICITOR - We are keen to identify a commercially minded solicitor with a passion for contract law and client relationships. Our client is a highly ranked law firm with a strong reputation for business advisory work. They have tasked Abacus to appoint a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their growing Commercial team. This is a superb opportunity to work with a wide range of clients across multiple industries.

About the Role

You'll advise on, draft, and negotiate a variety of complex and high-value commercial agreements. The role offers exposure to an impressive client base and the chance to develop your expertise in a supportive, collaborative team known for its commercial acumen and practical approach.

Key Areas of Expertise

The ideal candidate will have experience in some (not all) of the following:

  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including supply, distribution, agency, manufacturing, franchising, outsourcing, and services agreements.
  • Technology and IT contracts - including SaaS, software licensing, support and maintenance, and cloud services agreements.
  • Intellectual property and data protection - advising on IP ownership, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance within commercial arrangements.
  • Procurement and supply chain - supporting clients with tender processes and contractual risk management.
  • Commercial advisory work - assisting with regulatory compliance, standard terms and conditions, and operational policies.
  • Cross-sector exposure - working with clients in sectors such as retail, manufacturing, technology, energy, and professional services.
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales / Northern Ireland / Ireland).
  • C. 1-5 years' PQE gained within a reputable commercial or corporate team.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Commercially astute, client-focused, and confident handling complex business arrangements.
  • A team player who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
