Finance Manager

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Benefits
Location: London – City
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

We’re working with a high-growth, PE-backed technology business looking to appoint a technically strong Finance Manager to join their London finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a broad role with exposure across group reporting, technical accounting, controls, audit and finance transformation. You’ll also manage and develop a small team, whilst remaining hands-on and close to the detail.

It would suit an ACA-qualified accountant who trained within a Top 10 firm and has since gained experience within industry, or someone looking to build on an initial move out of practice within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.

The Role

  • Taking ownership of key areas of the monthly and year-end reporting process
  • Supporting the preparation and review of consolidated group reporting
  • Reviewing monthly management accounts and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information
  • Managing balance sheet reporting, reconciliations and the wider financial control environment
  • Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts across multiple entities
  • Acting as a key point of contact for the external auditors and managing audit requirements
  • Providing technical accounting support across the group
  • Reviewing accounting treatments and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Managing and developing a small finance team, reviewing their work and supporting their progression
  • Maintaining oversight of transactional finance and ensuring issues are identified and resolved
  • Working closely with the Group Financial Controller to strengthen processes and controls as the business scales
  • Supporting finance transformation, systems development and process automation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting
  • Working with stakeholders across the wider business to improve financial understanding and reporting
  • Supporting wider projects and ad hoc analysis across the finance function

What We’re Looking For

  • ACA qualified, ideally having trained within a Top 10 accountancy firm
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and a solid grounding in financial reporting
  • Experience within a group or multi-entity environment
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting, audit and financial controls
  • Experience of consolidations and group reporting
  • Previous industry experience within a growing, complex or fast-paced organisation
  • Experience managing or reviewing the work of more junior team members
  • Strong Excel and systems capability, with an interest in process improvement and automation
  • Comfortable operating at both a detailed and higher-level review capacity
  • Confident communicating with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience within a PE-backed, environment would be advantageous, but the quality of technical training and subsequent experience is more important

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking for a broad Finance Manager role with significant exposure across a growing group and the opportunity to develop alongside the business.
