Financial Controller
Financial Controller £75,000 – £85,000 + Benefits Hybrid – Cambridge (3 days per week in office)We’re seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded Financial Controller to take ownership of a small finance team and IT operations for a growing, international manufacturing and distribution business.This is a pivotal role, working closely with the Finance Director to drive financial performance, strengthen controls, and provide the insight needed to support decision-making at the highest level.What you’ll be doing:
- Lead on all financial reporting – ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of management accounts, forecasts, and board reports.
- Drive the budgeting and forecasting process, providing data-driven insights to influence strategy.
- Oversee group consolidation for multiple international entities, managing cross-border transactions and compliance.
- Implement and refine robust financial controls, processes, and systems to safeguard assets and improve efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a small, capable finance and IT team, fostering professional growth.
- Oversee external payroll provision.
- Act as a key partner to senior management, offering analysis, recommendations, and solutions to enhance performance.
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven track record in a Financial Controller (or equivalent) role within manufacturing and distribution.
- Experience managing group consolidations and international financial operations.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and budget management.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire teams.
- ERP systems experience and strong proficiency in financial software.
