ICT Manager South West London, Hertfordshire & Berkshire £32,000 – £40,000 A leading IT services provider is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic ICT Manager to support schools across South-West London, Berkshire and Hertfordshire. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong technical skills, a background in education, and a passion for delivering excellent service.As the ICT Manager you will be responsible for managing and maintaining school ICT networks, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and fit for purpose. The role includes supporting infrastructure projects, liaising with senior leaders, and ensuring IT services align with the school’s teaching and learning goals.For this ICT Manager role, applicants must have a valid UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle. The role is full-time, year-round, and subject to an enhanced DBS check.Key Responsibilities for the ICT Manager role include:
- Oversee and maintain the school’s ICT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, software, and cloud-based systems
- Carry out regular monitoring and upkeep of key platforms such as Microsoft 365, backup solutions, physical and virtual servers, and switches
- Be able to advise colleagues and hands-on support to staff to help them use systems effectively
- Manage day-to-day IT operations, ensuring timely and professional resolution of support requests
- Lead and support an ICT team, providing direction and accountability
- Deliver both 2nd and 3rd technical support as required
- Send weekly service summaries to school contacts and produce monthly reports, highlighting performance and any issues against SLAs
- Ensure all IT practices align with school policies and compliance requirements
- Deliver training sessions to internal staff to improve system usage and understanding
- Has a genuine enthusiasm for IT, with at least 2 to 3 years in a similar role supporting schools
- Understands the unique challenges and needs of the education sector
- Has experience delivering network upgrades and managing system improvements within school environments
- Communicates clearly and professionally, with excellent people skills and a customer-focused mindset
