Temporary - initially until Christmas | Full Time

A secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking an enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to join its friendly and supportive DT department on a temporary basis, initially until Christmas.

The successful candidate will provide practical and technical support across the department, preparing materials and equipment, maintaining workshop machinery and assisting teachers and students during practical lessons.

The role involves working with a range of equipment including woodworking machinery, hand tools, CAD/CAM, laser cutters and 3D printers, as well as supporting workshop health & safety, stock control and general organisation.

We are looking for someone with:

• Workshop or practical experience
• Experience using or maintaining machinery
• Good knowledge of health & safety
• Strong organisational and practical skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Previous school experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.

The school is also moving into new purpose-built DT workshops and classrooms, making this an exciting time to join the department.
