IT Teacher - Oxford

IT Teacher - Oxford - April or September 2026 Start

A fantastic specialist secondary school in Oxford is seeking to appoint a dedicated and innovative IT Teacher to join its committed team, with a start date available in April or September. This is an exciting opportunity for an IT Teacher who is passionate about digital learning and eager to make a meaningful difference to young people aged 11-16.

The school supports students with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), autism spectrum condition (ASC) and associated communication and learning differences. Many students have experienced disruption in their education and thrive in smaller classes with structured support and personalised teaching. An IT Teacher in this setting plays a vital role in building digital confidence, developing practical skills and preparing students for further education and employment.

The successful IT Teacher will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach core computing, digital literacy and accredited ICT or computing qualifications at GCSE or vocational level, depending on experience. The curriculum is flexible and adapted to meet individual learning needs, allowing each IT Teacher to be creative while maintaining clear pathways to recognised outcomes.

Every IT Teacher benefits from strong pastoral support, experienced leadership and access to therapeutic professionals. High staff-to-student ratios enable staff to focus on positive relationships, effective behaviour support and high-quality teaching. The school is committed to ongoing professional development and values innovation within the classroom.

The school is looking for an IT Teacher who:

  • Has strong subject knowledge in computing and ICT

  • Can engage students with varying levels of prior attainment

  • Understands or is willing to learn strategies to support SEMH and ASC needs

  • Is committed to inclusive practice and building positive relationships

  • Is resilient, adaptable and motivated to raise aspirations

In return, the successful IT Teacher will join a supportive and collaborative environment where staff wellbeing is prioritised and progression is encouraged.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Teacher seeking a rewarding role with either an April or September start. If you are an IT Teacher ready to combine technical expertise with patience, creativity and care, this outstanding Oxford secondary school would welcome your application.
