Sourcing Analyst

Position Summary: As a Sourcing Analyst, you will play a critical role in identifying and evaluating potential investment targets within the tech and software sectors. You will work closely with the investment team to source, assess, and track deal flow, utilizing a combination of market research, data analytics, and your understanding of the technology landscape. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Market Research:

  • Proactively identify and research high-potential companies within the tech and software space using databases, industry reports, trade publications, and networking.
  • Leverage industry events, conferences, and other resources to build a strong pipeline of potential targets.
  • Track market trends and technological advancements to identify emerging opportunities and competitive threats.

Deal Flow Management:

  • Maintain and update a comprehensive database of potential investment opportunities, including contact details, financials, and key business metrics.
  • Coordinate the flow of inbound and outbound deals, ensuring timely follow-ups and effective communication with target companies.
  • Work closely with senior sourcing team members to prioritize and track high-value leads.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Conduct financial and operational analysis of potential investment opportunities.
  • Analyze key business metrics, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing key findings for internal meetings and investment committee discussions.

Collaboration with Investment Team:

  • Collaborate with senior team members on investment strategies and deal screening.
  • Provide support in due diligence processes by gathering relevant data, conducting background checks, and preparing materials.
  • Participate in team meetings to provide insights and contribute to the ongoing investment thesis.

Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry contacts, including founders, executives, investment bankers, and other intermediaries.
  • Represent the firm at relevant industry events and conferences to build awareness and strengthen the firm's network within the tech and software sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in a sourcing, sales, business development, research, or analytical role in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting, ideally with a focus on technology or software sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the tech and software landscape, including key players, trends, and investment opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial statements, market data, and business models.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), financial modeling, and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with CRM and deal flow management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Affinity, DealCloud) is a plus.
