Application Support Engineer

3rd Line Application/Customer Support – Gillingham, UK | Up to £35,000

We’re looking for a 3rd Line Application/Customer Support to be the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance. If you enjoy problem-solving, have strong communication skills, and a solid background in SQL troubleshooting, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing technical support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or remote tools
  • Troubleshooting SQL databases (queries, stored procedures, performance issues)
  • Logging and documenting issues and resolutions clearly
  • Escalating complex cases to the right teams/vendors
  • Supporting software installations, updates, and configurations
  • Collaborating with colleagues to improve processes and spot recurring issues
  • Staying up to date with our IT infrastructure and helpdesk systems

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in IT Helpdesk or technical support roles
  • SQL knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools
  • Solid understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and ability to work both independently and in a team
