The Opportunity 

Accenture is looking to recruit Delivery Leads (Consultants and Managers) into Industry X’s Transformation and Delivery practice in the UK, with experience of leading software engineering and business change programmes in fast-paced environments across a variety of industries and sectors.

In this role your key responsibilities will be to:? 

  • Oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of complex transformation programmes, or parts of those programmes

  • Often be responsible for helping sell, contract and mobilise engagements, including staffing of individuals into roles

  • Act as the main point of contact for client stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of their needs and expectations

  • Lead, motivate and manage multi-disciplinary teams, developing strong working relationships and providing regular feedback

  • Develop strong client relationships across both Business and Technology

  • Ensure that the team delivers to contractual client commitments as well as internal commitments across schedule, delivery scope and costs, whilst managing risks, conflicts and misalignments

  • Provide visibility into the programme’s progress through the creation and reporting of key performance metrics and delivery insights

  • Ensure financial controls and governance are maintained throughout the project lifecycle, and, where appropriate, be able to identify potential budget overruns early and put in place corrective or mitigating actions

  • Support and/or lead wider sales opportunities that are aligned with client agendas, helping craft value-driven sales propositions, with an ambition to shape solutions for delivery and success

  • Support internal practice initiatives such as participation in training courses and community events

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement on an engagement, leveraging feedback and lessons learned to improve delivery and client experience.

Key Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for experience across a selection of the following skills:? 

  • Between 4 and 8 years’ experience of delivering complex projects to time, cost and quality objectives using methodologies such as SAFe, Agile, Waterfall

  • A strong understanding of software development lifecycle, and experience in technical delivery and systems integration

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with clients at all levels and build strong relationships

  • Track record of successful delivery of a programme or portfolio management service

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including technical, business, and client-facing personnel

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding solutions and driving results

  • Demonstrable experience managing risks, issues, and dependencies, and delivering successful outcomes under challenging conditions

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability (where appropriate) to manage budgets, resource plan, track costs, and understand financial performance in relation to programme delivery

  • Experience in using project management software (JIRA Align, MS Azure, MS Project, SmartSheet)

Set yourself apart if you can demonstrate some of the areas below:? 

  • Professional qualification in project management, such as the PMP, CSM, PRINCE2, SAFe Agilist or similar?

  • A strong understanding of both technical and business aspects of programme delivery

  • Experience in the delivery and application of AI to businesses or business processes, with measurable impact

  • Having experience in sales, helping write proposals and sales materials to support winning new work or securing extensions of existing engagements

  • Knowledge of existing, new and emerging digital technologies and being able to identify use cases to apply them across our clients/industries

  • Experience of helping contribute to the growth of internal practices and communities by supporting learning curricula, community events, etc.
