Remote mainly, possibly a day each week in Portsmouth offices
Reporting to the Network and Infrastructure Manager, the Infrastructure Analyst will be responsible for oversight of the networking infrastructure.
The Infrastructure Analyst primary responsibilities:
. Operate, monitor and fine tune alerting systems within the Cloud environment. Systems such as Splunk, Nagios, Cloudwatch and LogicMonitor with a view to reducing false positives and streamlining alerts.
. Work alongside the Network, Cloud & Comms specialist functions with performing BAU, project change and documentation.
. Proactively learn the infrastructure, Cloud and Physical infrastructure to SME level.
. Work alongside other team members, assist and supply cover/support where required.
. Act as an advisory consultant in selected key fields to internal customers.
. Assist in the troubleshooting of infrastructure services in the event of incident declaration.
. Assist operations teams in their understanding of the infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Methodology & Processes
. Provide technology authority for selected fields within the Infrastructure group.
. Ensure the group adhere to all standards, methods, tools and ways of working
. Apply a continuous improvement mindset.
. Promotes the Networking and Comms CoE and ensures appropriate evangelizing and exploitation on the Networking, Comms and SRE technologies.
. Providing professional coaching to other functions both internal and external to the Network and Infrastructure group.
. To be vigilant about security and adhere to best practices in order to secure our cloud infrastructure services.
Stakeholder & People Management
. Create strong relationships with Business and IT Stakeholders
. Work closely with Business Solutions, Architecture, Service Delivery and Project Delivery to deliver successful technology change .
Planning & Resources:
. Ensure delivery of technical Work Packages to time, budget and quality
. Ensure delivery costs are accurately estimated, presented and agreed
. Ensure dependencies, risks and issues are understood and dealt with
. Along with Architecture, define standards, tools, methods and patterns for Networking and Comms delivery
. Ensures that the CoE is working closely with Architecture to define improvements in tools, technology, enhancing patterns and re-use of assets
Key Skills:
Education:
. Degree in an IT or IT aware subject or NVQ
Experience:
. Demonstratable experience of setup and configuration of enterprise estate monitoring eg, Splunk, Nagios, Cloudwatch, Logic Monitor etc.
. 3 Years demonstratable experience working with corporate enterprise infrastructure.
. Experience of working with Firewalls, Cloud technologies and Enterprise networks.
. experience of working as part of a team, delivering IT infrastructure projects.
