Acumen Cyber | Glasgow (Hybrid / Remote considered)

Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 depending on experience

Acumen Cyber is a fast-growing cyber security services company delivering modern, engineering-led Security Operations Centre (SOC) services to organisations across the UK.

We work closely with organisations across the public sector, higher and further education, critical national infrastructure and enterprise markets, helping them detect and respond to cyber threats faster and more effectively.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Bid & Proposals Manager to take ownership of our bid capability and help us secure strategic opportunities across both public and private sector markets.

This is a hands-on role today with the opportunity to build and scale the bid function over time, working closely with our sales, marketing and technical teams.

The Role

You will lead the preparation and delivery of high-quality proposals across public sector tenders, framework opportunities and enterprise bids, ensuring Acumen Cyber presents clear, compelling and competitive responses.

Over time, you will also help develop the structure, processes and tooling needed to support a scalable bid function as the business continues to grow.

This role sits at the heart of our commercial engine and works closely with senior leadership, sales teams and technical SMEs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end management of bid and proposal responses across public and private sector opportunities
• Write and coordinate high-quality responses aligned to evaluation criteria and customer requirements
• Manage bid timelines, inputs and reviews to ensure deadlines are met while maintaining quality
• Work closely with technical SMEs to translate complex cyber security services into clear and compelling proposals
• Support responses to public sector tenders and framework competitions
• Develop reusable bid content libraries and templates to improve efficiency and consistency
• Introduce modern tooling and automation to increase bid capacity and improve win rates
• Work alongside sales and marketing teams to support opportunity strategy and positioning
• Contribute to continuous improvement of Acumen Cyber's bid capability as the business scales

Experience & Background

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience delivering successful bids in competitive environments.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience in bid or proposal management, ideally within technology, cyber security or managed services
• Experience responding to opportunities across public sector, higher and further education and enterprise clients
• Strong understanding of UK public sector procurement frameworks and methodologies
• A track record of delivering high-quality proposals and strong win rates
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical services clearly
• Experience introducing structured bid processes, tooling or automation to improve efficiency and capacity
• The ability to work effectively with commercial teams and technical subject matter experts

Experience within the technology or cyber security sector is highly desirable, although candidates with relevant experience from other sectors will also be considered.

Location

Our headquarters and Security Operations Centre are based in Glasgow.

Ideally candidates will be within reasonable travel distance of Glasgow, however remote applicants with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
