Full Stack Technical Lead - Cape Town - Hybrid - Up to R120,000 CTC + Bonus

The Company:

My client is a software consultancy, providing bespoke services to clients across Europe, USA, UK, Australia and SA. They are at a head count of fifty employees, most of which are based in Cape Town SA, with some based in the UK and Europe. This company is a business run by engineers, meaning all of their directors and management have been engineers or technical team members in the past.

They are selective in projects they take on, favouring high-level and complex projects where they are required to solve specific problems that make a large impact for their customers. This company typically deploys teams onto projects for at least a year and there is an option for rotation following this. They do not provide services that only require one developer on a project, so you will always be operating with a team.

This company are in a current phase of growth, with the team expanding and new projects flowing. They are very forward-thinking and like their team to stay abreast with current technology and new concepts.

Role Summary:
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Guide architectural decisions, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions.
  • Drive best practices in development, testing, and deployment, with a strong emphasis on quality and security.
  • Code hands-on when required, leading by example and staying close to the latest technologies.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to help the team grow.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Upskill the team, especially in areas like Web, Flutter (if applicable), and cloud technologies, sharing your knowledge through workshops and mentoring sessions

Tech Stack & Experience Required:

  • Strong expertise in C# and .Net (ideally .Net 8).
  • Deep experience with Web API development.
  • Frontend experience with React, Angular, and TypeScript.
  • Cloud expertise, particularly with Azure (Azure DevOps, Functions, App Services, etc.).
  • Experience with scalable, high-performance applications and microservices architectures.
  • A passion for mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing.

Bonus Skills
  • Experience with Flutter for web and mobile development.
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures and message queuing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
