Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Introduction

This business builds practical AI solutions that actually get used — not experiments that sit on a shelf. As a Senior AI Engineer, you'll work end-to-end on real client challenges, shaping intelligent systems from early design through to live deployment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Designing, building and deploying production-ready AI and data science solutions
  • Training and shipping advanced machine learning, deep learning and reinforcement learning models
  • Developing AI systems using Large Language Models
  • Building robust data pipelines for extraction, cleaning and transformation using Python and SQL
  • Exploring data through ad-hoc analysis and notebooks to uncover insights and opportunities
  • Turning complex outputs into clear dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Leading client-facing discussions, presentations and written outputs
  • Championing best practice across version control, containerisation and cloud deployment
  • Supporting proposals and shaping new data science opportunities
  • Mentoring junior team members and setting a strong technical standard

Main Skills Needed:

  • Strong background in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, statistics, physics or similar)
  • Proven experience delivering AI or data science solutions end to end
  • Advanced Python skills with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques (e.g. tree-based models, regression)
  • Practical exposure to deep learning and reinforcement learning approaches
  • Experience working with SQL and structured data
  • Confidence explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with collaborative engineering practices (Git, cloud environments, deployment workflows)
  • Strong problem-solving ability, organisation and attention to detail

What's in It for You:

  • Competitive salary with an annual performance bonus
  • 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays — and your birthday off
  • £1,000 annual personal development budget
  • Private healthcare including mental health support
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
  • Hybrid working with two days a week in the office
  • Opportunity to work from abroad for up to a month each year
  • A close-knit, collaborative team that values learning and impact
  • Regular socials, office perks and a genuinely supportive culture
