What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the design, development, and operation of secure, scalable data platforms for high-profile defence and national security programmes
  • Building event-driven data solutions that enable automation, analytics, and AI-powered applications
  • Developing and maintaining data ingestion, integration, storage, processing, and governance capabilities
  • Creating reusable workflows and automation frameworks that help technical users work more efficiently and consistently
  • Delivering configurable data integration solutions using standardised connectors, transformation patterns, and orchestration tools
  • Designing systems that perform effectively in challenging environments with limited or disrupted connectivity
  • Building and supporting real-time and batch data processing pipelines using modern streaming and distributed data technologies
  • Implementing metadata management, data lineage, cataloguing, and governance capabilities
  • Contributing to platform reliability through monitoring, deployment automation, performance optimisation, and operational support
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions

Main Skills Needed:

  • Experience working as a Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role within production environments
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and modern data platform architectures
  • Hands-on experience with data integration, streaming technologies, and reusable integration frameworks
  • Experience enabling workflow automation and improving data processes for technical users
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, schema management, and data contracts
  • Knowledge of batch and real-time data processing concepts
  • Experience building reliable, scalable, and operationally robust platforms
  • Understanding of monitoring, alerting, deployment automation, and incident management
  • Security-conscious approach with experience implementing governance, access controls, and auditability
  • Eligibility and willingness to undergo DV Security Clearance
