We’re supporting the delivery of a high-profile digital transformation programme within UK Central Government and are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to help shape and deliver business-critical digital services.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex transformation initiatives, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to understand business needs, define requirements and ensure solutions deliver measurable value for both users and the organisation.
The Opportunity
As a Business Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand challenges, identify opportunities and translate complex requirements into clear, actionable deliverables.
Working within an Agile delivery environment, you’ll support the successful design and implementation of digital products, services and wider business change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll support the delivery of complex digital transformation programmes by:
- Leading business analysis activities across multiple workstreams.
- Eliciting, analysing and documenting business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Facilitating workshops, interviews and stakeholder engagement sessions to gather and validate requirements.
- Mapping current and future-state business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Producing high-quality documentation, including business requirements, user stories, process maps and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Agile Delivery Managers, Technical Architects, Developers and User Researchers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Supporting backlog refinement, sprint planning and wider Agile ceremonies.
- Conducting impact assessments and supporting organisational readiness for change.
- Ensuring solutions remain aligned with business objectives and user needs.
- Building strong relationships across business and technical teams, constructively challenging stakeholders where appropriate.
About You
You’ll be an experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record of delivering complex digital transformation programmes within UK Central Government.
You will also have:
- Proven experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Excellent requirements elicitation, process mapping and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria and wider business documentation.
- Experience facilitating workshops with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively across multiple workstreams within complex programme environments.
- Active SC Clearance, which is essential for this opportunity.
Highly Desirable
It would be beneficial if you also have:
- Experience delivering engagements through a management consultancy.
- Experience working in line with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and Agile delivery practices.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Miro or similar collaboration platforms.
- A BCS Business Analysis, Agile Business Analyst or equivalent professional certification.
