Business Change Lead

Business Change Lead

A major technology transformation is underway within a highly complex engineering environment, and this role will help make sure the change lands properly across the organisation. You’ll be hands-on, working closely with stakeholders, technology teams and communications colleagues to turn transformation plans into lasting business adoption.

Role Overview:

  • Location: Derby, Manchester or Warrington – hybrid
  • Package: £60,000 - £75,000 p/a + benefits
  • Duration: FTC until the end of the year, with the potential to move to permanent
  • Industry: Engineering / Nuclear Technology
  • Security: BPSS security check required

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the people, process and behavioural change activity across a large-scale IT transformation programme.
  • Rebuild and strengthen stakeholder relationships across different levels of the organisation, from senior leaders through to operational teams.
  • Work alongside programme, project, technology and business teams to make sure change is practical, understood and adopted.
  • Partner closely with the communications team to create clear, consistent messaging and support a smooth transition.
  • Assess how new systems and processes will impact teams, roles and ways of working, identifying areas that need additional support.
  • Develop and manage stakeholder engagement, communications, training and organisational readiness activity.
  • Coordinate change champions and business change networks to build ownership and momentum across the organisation.
  • Plan and support deployment, transition, cutover and hypercare activity, keeping operational disruption to a minimum.
  • Track adoption, readiness, risks and benefits, providing clear reporting through to programme governance.
  • Identify resistance and change risks early, taking practical action to address them.
  • Ensure new capabilities and processes are successfully embedded into business-as-usual operations.
  • Support benefits realisation by connecting technology delivery with measurable improvements for the business.

Main Skills Needed:

  • Significant hands-on business change experience within large-scale IT, ERP, HR, Finance, Procurement or digital transformation programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the confidence to engage senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to rebuild relationships, facilitate workshops and bring people with you through behavioural and organisational change.
  • Experience delivering change impact assessments, readiness assessments, communications and training.
  • Good understanding of change management methodologies and practical adoption techniques.
  • Experience working with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, Microsoft or similar.
  • Strong programme delivery skills across governance, risk, issues, deployment and transition.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex information clear for different audiences.
  • A commercially minded, pragmatic approach — comfortable getting into the detail rather than staying at strategy level.
  • Experience of benefits realisation and embedding change into BAU.
  • Global or multi-site deployment experience would be advantageous.
  • Change, programme or project management qualifications such as Prosci, APMG, MSP, PRINCE2 or Agile would be beneficial.

What’s in It for You:

  • A hands-on role with genuine influence over a significant transformation programme.
  • Hybrid working with locations in Derby, Manchester or Warrington.
  • The opportunity to work across a complex, high-profile engineering environment.
  • A role where stakeholder engagement, communication and practical change delivery are genuinely valued.
  • Flexible and part-time working options available, supporting different work-life balance needs.
  • The initial FTC has the potential to transition into a permanent position.
  • An inclusive environment where different perspectives and working styles are valued, with reasonable adjustments available throughout the recruitment process and employment.
