Contract Full Stack Developer – AI & Data Platforms

We're supporting a Defence Technology organisation delivering innovative digital solutions into National Security and Defence environments. They are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Full Stack Developer to support the development of next-generation AI-powered applications, data platforms, and mission-critical software solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to work across the full development lifecycle, building scalable applications, integrating complex data pipelines, and supporting the delivery of cutting-edge AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications within secure environments
• Build and integrate scalable data pipelines supporting AI and analytics workloads
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python
• Create responsive front-end applications and user interfaces
• Integrate AI and LLM capabilities into operational platforms and applications
• Support the development of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI-driven workflows
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Architects, and Platform Engineers to deliver innovative technical solutions
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps best practices
• Optimise application performance, scalability, and reliability

Required Experience

• Active SC Clearance
• Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer
• Excellent Python development skills
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data-driven applications
• Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services
• Front-end development experience using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud-native development in Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments

Desirable Experience

• Experience with AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Knowledge of RAG architectures and vector databases
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerised applications
• Exposure to MLOps and AI deployment pipelines
• Knowledge of graph databases and knowledge graph technologies
• Previous experience working within Defence, National Security, or highly regulated sectors
