Security Operations Lead

Role Overview:
- Location: Milton Keynes - Once Per Month Minimum
- Package: £100k Basic, with additional bonus and benefits
- Industry: Financial Technology (Fintech)
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and grow a high-performing Security Operations and Identity & Access Management team
- Build and maintain scalable, automated, intelligence-driven security platforms
- Oversee detection, response, and mitigation of security incidents to reduce risk exposure
- Implement security controls that enable business growth without friction
- Coach and develop engineers to take ownership of outcomes and innovate continuously
- Introduce and champion new technologies and approaches to keep the bank ahead of threats
- Collaborate across departments to embed security into the bank’s culture and processes
Main Skills Needed:
- Proven experience leading technical security teams, ideally covering SecOps and Identity
- Track record of delivering measurable security outcomes (e.g., zero-trust implementation, faster detection/response, platform adoption)
- Hands-on expertise in SIEM/SOAR, XDR, cloud security, incident response, or related areas
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and MDR/XDR platforms, including email security tooling
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Collaborative mindset with ability to translate complex security challenges into clear actions
- Curiosity and innovation in exploring new tools, ideas, and approaches
