Senior Business Development Director (Telco)
Introduction
A high-growth global technology company is expanding its presence in the telecommunications sector and is seeking a proven sales leader to drive revenue and market growth.
This newly created UK-based GTM role will focus on winning new business and scaling strategic partnerships across cloud, infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, and next-generation network solutions for leading telecom operators and service providers.
Role Overview
Role: Senior Business Development Director (Telecommunications)
Location: London, UK (hybrid flexible working)
Package: £110,000-£160,000 per annum, 50% Performance Bonus & Benefits

What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and owning strategic relationships with telecom operators, service providers, and technology partners to drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Leading end-to-end sales cycles from first conversation to signed contract, acting as the main point of contact throughout.
- Collaborating with solution architects and delivery teams to shape tailored value propositions across cloud, DevOps, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and 5G solutions.
- Representing the business as a telecom specialist at industry events, panels, and client sessions, positioning the company as a trusted advisor.
- Driving the go-to-market strategy for the telecom sector, including sales planning, campaign input, and strategic partnerships.
- Leveraging your telecom network to identify opportunities, open doors, and accelerate growth in next-generation networks and digital services.
Main Skills Needed
- Proven expertise in selling IT services, cloud, network, or platform solutions to telecom operators or service providers.
- Strong experience in services-based, consultative selling.
- Established network of senior contacts within the telecommunications sector is essential.
- Background in Go To Market (GTM) strategy creation and execution.
- Deep understanding of telecom ecosystems, including 5G, cloud-native networks, digital services, and operational transformation.
- Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and build trusted C-level relationships.
- Confident presenter with a consultative approach tailored to enterprise telecom clients.
- Experience working with nearshore/offshore delivery models is a plus.
- Knowledge of AIOps, observability, network automation, or platform engineering is advantageous.
