Senior SOC Analyst

As part of their ambitious growth journey, they’re expanding their team and seeking a motivated, experienced Senior SOC Analyst to help them drive forward their security capabilities.

Role Overview

  • Location: Farnborough (Cody Technology Park), UK — Fully in office
  • Package: Contract: £600 p/d Outside IR35 or Permanent: £65 000 p/a
  • Employment Type: Contract and Permanent positions available
  • Security Clearance: Must hold active DV Clearance
  • Industry: Cybersecurity, Defence, National Security

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead and manage a small team of analysts delivering SOC services across multiple platforms and projects
  • Monitor security systems for threats, unauthorised activities, and potential intrusions
  • Review and enhance existing security controls to keep pace with evolving technology
  • Assist in developing role-based access controls aligned with identity management systems
  • Generate regular security reports for senior stakeholders
  • Provide security awareness training, onboarding briefs, and campaigns for users and visitors
  • Support and maintain technical certifications like ISO27001 and other governance standards
  • Offer ongoing guidance and support to users on security-related issues
  • Collaborate with management to grow the SOC’s capabilities
  • Stay current with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies

Main Skills Needed:

  • Strong experience in SOC operations (3+ years), preferably within secure or Defence environments
  • Proficiency with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Elastik, or Defender
  • Knowledge of cloud security and incident management processes
  • Understanding of networking, threat intelligence, and key security threats like phishing and ransomware
  • Experience with identity and access management (IDAM) and JML processes
  • Familiarity with technical standards including ISO27001, ITSM policies, and information classification
  • Leadership capability with team management and development skills
