Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview:

• Location: Malvern (Hybrid)
• Package: £55,000 – £75,000 basic + bonus + benefits
• Industry: Defence & Advanced Technology

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading the capture and translation of technical requirements into robust software solutions
• Designing, developing and maintaining high-performance systems
• Driving the development of new features and resolving complex technical issues
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams and project stakeholders
• Supporting the full software lifecycle from concept through to delivery and support
• Ensuring high coding standards through reviews, testing and best practice approaches

Main Skills Needed:

• Strong experience in software development using C++ or Java
• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, particularly within complex or real-time systems
• Proven ability to lead technical workstreams or small teams
• Experience working across Linux or Windows environments
• Knowledge of configuration management and change control processes
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar (or equivalent experience)
