Generator Service Engineer / Technician
An opportunity has arisen for a Generator Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering and construction firm, specialising in demolition, civil engineering, plant hire and power generation services.
As a Generator Service Engineer, you will be providing on-site engineering support, maintaining equipment, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs, servicing and commissioning work.
This role offers salary of £17.25 per hour for 39-hour work week plus overtime opportunities and benefits.
You will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
- Selecting appropriate specialist equipment, connectors and testing tools for maintenance and repairs.
- Setting up equipment in line with customer specifications.
- Carrying out modifications to equipment when required and instructed.
- Repairing and maintaining machinery in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements.
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and providing effective technical support to customers.
- Participating in the on-call rota and working overtime when required, sometimes at short notice.
- Attending relevant training and contributing positively to ongoing technical development.

What we are looking for:
- Prior generator experience is essential
- Experience in mechanical / electrical engineering, or diesel fitting.
- Familiarity with DSE/Deep Sea systems and generator synchronising, with refresher training available if required.
- Understanding electronic systems and mechanical components, including engines and alternators.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
Shifts:
- Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
