Salary: £69,000 - £97,300 Location: Remote with expectation to be on site for stakeholder meetings when required. The organisation's office is based in Durrington, West Sussex.

About the Role

Our leading utilities client is seeking an experienced Application Security Team Lead to take ownership of security across its enterprise application estate. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring robust access controls, governance, and compliance across the SAP ECC system. There are currently no immediate plans to replace the legacy SAP ECC system, making this expertise essential.

Operating in a highly regulated and heavily audited environment, you will play a vital role in protecting business-critical systems and ensuring alignment with internal controls and external audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the security function across the enterprise applications landscape, with a primary focus on SAP ECC.
  • Oversee and maintain user access profiles, roles, and authorisations, ensuring they are correctly assigned and regularly reviewed
  • Ensure security controls are aligned with business needs, compliance standards, and audit expectations
  • Work closely with the Cyber Security team to ensure governance is adhered to and that changes are made only where appropriate and authorised
  • Support and prepare for annual external audits, ensuring systems meet required compliance and control standards
  • Provide expert guidance on access controls, segregation of duties (SoD), and risk mitigation across systems
  • Contribute to security strategy and continuous improvement across the application estate
  • Support additional enterprise platforms where required, including ServiceNow and other integrated systems

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience in SAP ECC environments
  • Proven track record managing application security within SAP ECC
  • Experience working with security models and enterprise application access controls
  • Strong understanding of role-based access control (RBAC), segregation of duties (SoD), and audit requirements
  • Experience operating in highly regulated and heavily audited environments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Cyber Security, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Technical Environment

  • SAP ECC (legacy estate) (essential)
  • Workday and ServiceNow (desirable)
  • Broader ERP and enterprise application ecosystem
