Business Analyst - SAP S/4HANA Finance Data Governance
Location: Windsor | Hybrid Working (3 days onsite)
Contract Length: Initial 6-Month Contract - (Possible extension)
Pay Rate: £550 per day via Umbrella - Inside IR35
We're supporting a major enterprise-wide Finance Transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to help establish and embed Finance Data Governance across a complex organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping how finance data is managed, governed, and standardised for the future. Working across Finance, Technology, and Business teams, you'll help create a single source of truth for financial reporting while influencing future-state processes, controls, and master data standards.
The Role
As Business Analyst, you'll work at the intersection of Finance, Data Governance, and Business Transformation, helping to standardise finance master data and improve data quality, consistency, and control across the organisation.
You'll partner closely with finance stakeholders to understand current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the implementation of robust governance frameworks that underpin a successful SAP S/4HANA transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of Finance Data Governance and Master Data Governance frameworks
- Define, document, and improve finance data policies, processes, and controls
- Gather and analyse business requirements from Finance stakeholders
- Map and document current and future-state finance processes
- Help standardise finance master data definitions across multiple business units
- Support the design and implementation of governance workflows and approval processes
- Define data quality standards, validation rules, and control requirements
- Review and improve finance hierarchies, chart of accounts, cost centre, and profit centre structures
- Support testing, validation, and governance process adoption activities
- Create process documentation, training materials, and stakeholder communications
- Drive stakeholder engagement and help embed new ways of working
About You
We're looking for a Business Analyst who combines strong finance process knowledge with experience working around finance data, master data, and transformation initiatives.
Essential Experience
- Strong Business Analysis experience within Finance environments
- Experience supporting Finance Transformation programmes
- Understanding of Finance Master Data and reporting processes
- Experience gathering requirements, process mapping, and documentation
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity
- Experience working within SAP Finance environments, ideally SAP S/4HANA
- Understanding of finance data structures and governance concepts
Desirable Experience
- SAP S/4HANA Finance Transformation experience
- Master Data Governance (MDG) experience
- Experience designing or implementing data governance frameworks
- Record-to-Report (R2R) process knowledge
- Experience defining data quality standards and controls
- Exposure to large-scale ERP transformation programmes
- Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
