Job title: Data Integration Engineer
Location: London / Hybrid (3 days on-site)
Duration: 6 Months (with potential extension)
Rate: £700 PWD via umbrella (top end of the range)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Integration Engineer to join our client's team on a contract basis. You will play a key role in designing and delivering robust data integration solutions that support business intelligence, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-impact environment within the banking sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions using ETL tools and methodologies.
- Manage and optimize SQL Server and Oracle databases to ensure high performance and availability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver effective integration strategies.
- Ensure compliance with data quality, security, and regulatory standards (banking focus).
- Build and maintain data marts, focusing on data modeling and transformation.
- Support regulatory reporting systems and assist with AQR reporting for the ECB.
- Leverage cloud storage solutions and middleware technologies to improve data processing.
- Troubleshoot complex data issues, identify root causes, and deliver effective solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in data integration, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server and Oracle.
- Proficiency in ETL tools (SSIS, DataStage, Alteryx) and data modeling.
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory reporting systems in the banking sector.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams.
- Excellent time management and collaboration skills.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to Azure, Databricks, and middleware (IIB, Kafka, MQ).
- Experience in creating and managing data marts.
- Familiarity with modern data integration platforms.
