Job Title: Data Product Manager
Location: Bristol | Hybrid - 1-2 days onsite per week
Rate: From £500+ per day via Umbrella
Duration: 6 months
Clearance: UK Security Clearance required

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Product Manager to provide strategic leadership across enterprise analytics at a major public sector contractor. This role will lead a small team of BI Developers (up to four) and oversee the design and delivery of high-volume, complex datasets, dashboards, and reporting solutions.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders and key business units, including supporting a large client mobilisation programme, ensuring analytics solutions deliver real business value. While primarily strategic, a strong understanding of Power BI, SQL, process mapping, and data governance is essential.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic oversight of BI reporting, dashboards, and analytics delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of BI Developers.
  • Ensure high-quality, analysis-ready datasets and consistent KPI reporting.
  • Define and govern semantic models, metric frameworks, and enterprise datasets.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to maintain data quality, governance, and lineage.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to translate strategic requirements into actionable analytics.
  • Support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives where required.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience at Head of/ Lead/ Senior Manager level (or equivalent) in relevant fields.
  • Experience managing relevant teams.
  • Comfortable with large-scale, complex datasets.
  • Strong Power BI skills (ability to build dashboards a plus).
  • Knowledge of SQL and process mapping.
  • Understanding of enterprise data governance and semantic models.
  • Background in Data/ Computer Science, or Data Engineering is highly desirable.
  • Ability to engage senior stakeholders and provide strategic insight.
