Devops Engineer Role

Rate - £550 (a day)

Duration - 6 Months (initially)

Location - London (Hybrid)

Ir35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company)

As a support (DevOps) engineer, you'll be working closely with development, quality, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to facilitate our software development and release processes, enable build and deployment pipelines.

To be considered for this role, you'll need to show us that you've got the skills and capabilities. You'll have to meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Deploying a variety of IT solutions to a range of environments - you'll be scripting and automating the process.
  • Making decisions and balancing the risk with successfully deploying changes, and deciding on the best course of action in resolving technical problems
  • Conducting technical troubleshooting activities in a range of systems and technologies
  • Maintaining the applications across a range of platforms liaising with technical experts on issues that may arise - you'll be escalating tasks to the relevant colleagues in IT
  • Scripting, testing and deploying new versions of environments and target infrastructure
  • Support development and QA across various projects to satisfy their day to day needs
  • Study and implement new tools for increased productivity, security, reliability and performance
  • Developing tools and services useful in DevOps environments such as performance monitoring, security monitoring, deployment/configuration, continuous integration/build servers and cloud resource creation scripts.
  • Updating the release manager and other stakeholders with the technical progress on projects
  • Planning for the future from capacity to stability to continuously improving methods to automate, ensure consistency and improve the up-time of our systems

Minimum Criteria:

  • Having worked in teams supporting systems in Azure, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or SharePoint Online
  • Having solid technical experience in a development or operational environment using Microsoft tooling
  • Working within Agile teams with Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Having good communication skills - you'll be explaining technical concepts and issues to a variety of colleagues
  • Being a fast learner who's able to quickly grasp new IT concepts and be accountable for them

Desirable Criteria:

  • Having an understanding of SQL or Microsoft SQL Server would be desirable
  • Being able to effectively deploy and support .NET applications would be desirable
  • Having knowledge of internet information services (IIS) to make sure our web hosting solutions are running smoothly
