We are happy to be recruiting for one of our high-profile banking clients. They are currently looking for a Financial Crime SME - Transaction Monitoring to join them for an initial 6 month contract, however there may be scope for extension.
Overview of the Role:
The purpose of this role is to work firm wide to enhance the 1LoD Transaction Monitoring (AML) capability, aligning to the Three Lines of Defence model, working closely with Operations, IT and Compliance to uplift the operating model to meet the ever-growing customer and regulatory expectations of Financial Institutions.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Supporting the TM VP on the implementation of new TM Platforms including customer segmentation modelling
- Driving delivery of tuning, effectiveness, system upgrades, and integration
- Supporting IT and Change with production deployment
- Monitoring rule performance, risk, compliance, and audit findings, and leading the implementation of continuous improvements, remediation actions, and control uplifts
- Share knowledge and contribute to best practices within FCMG
- Keeping up to date with the latest technical developments within analytics and making sure that changes to industry best practices are adopted.
- Conducting analysis including data gathering and requirements specification in collaboration with business stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering, and particularly AML monitoring Systems. Preferably, Actimize SAM.
- A good understanding of core Bank products such as Trade Finance, Loans and SWIFT payments.
- Experience with analytical or database querying software such as SQL and Python.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
- The ability to identify wider business impacts or opportunities across key outputs and processes.
- Ability to work unaided on projects and manage their own time to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communicator, able to articulate and prepare detailed rationale.
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of personnel with differing expertise and backgrounds as part of project workstreams.
- Strong banking background working across multiple jurisdictions and products
- Background in Financial Crime Prevention across first and second line of defence
- Experience in Transaction Monitoring, including risk and coverage assessments, rule configuration, tuning and system implementation
- Strong knowledge of Global AML laws and regulation and experience working with regulators and authorities
- Ability to manage and monitor progress of various dependencies to ensure deadlines are met
- Must be detail orientated, analytical and inquisitive
- Evidence of innovative thinking and problem-solving
- Must be able to communicate, both written and verbal with empathy and sensitivity with colleagues across a range of functions and seniorities, bearing in mind cultural and language differences as well as the commercial realities of our business
- Practical and willing to take responsibility to ensure objectives are achieved
- This role requires the ability to absorb complex subject matter rapidly and not be afraid to ask questions to ensure clarity and accuracy
Location:
This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to work from the clients London office 2-3 days a week.
Working hours:
Standard working hours with some flex where required.
