The Role:

In the position of IT Support Engineer, responsibilities will encompass supporting daily IT operations across the business while actively contributing to infrastructure improvements and technology initiatives. Key duties will include:

  • Supporting and maintaining Windows desktop and server environments.
  • Managing Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, and user administration.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
  • Installing, configuring, and deploying new IT equipment and systems.
  • Supporting server maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and virtualised environments.
  • Assisting with ERP/MES systems, reporting tools, and business applications.
  • Ensuring systems are secure, patched, and compliant with company standards.
  • Supporting cyber security initiatives and information security best practises.
  • Contributing to infrastructure upgrades, continuous improvement projects, and business growth initiatives.
  • Providing occasional out-of-hours support for planned project activities when required.

What's Required:

Our client is eager to engage with candidates who possess:

  • Previous experience in IT Support, Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Group Policy environments.
  • A solid understanding of networking principles, switches, firewalls, and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication abilities to support users at all levels.
  • A proactive approach and a genuine passion for technology.

Desirable Experience:

  • Support experience with ERP or MES systems.
  • SQL or database experience.
  • Familiarity with Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or equivalent.
  • Experience within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
