Job Advert: IT Technician - Temporary Position
Our client Lincolnshire Police are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Technician to join their team on a temporary basis. This exciting opportunity is based in Nettleham, Lincoln, and offers an hourly rate of £14.74.
Role Overview:
As an IT Technician, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing operational and technical support to all users of IT services. This is a fantastic chance to contribute to the efficiency of IT operations within the organisation while ensuring that all queries and issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed advice and guidance to users on the effective use of IT systems, products, and services.
- Manage endpoints using technologies such as InTune, SCCM, Knox, and Azure-based administration.
- Oversee the management of the Airwave estate utilising Radio Manager.
- Assist with the deployment of VOIP telephony, laptops, mobile devices, and hardware refresh technology.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including asset registers and technical records.
- Ensure systems are supportable, expandable, and capable of delivering ongoing business value.
- Keep users informed of progress on their requests at all key stages.
- Employ innovative approaches to problem-solving and deliver creative solutions.
- Provide assistance and technical knowledge to support project implementations.
- Participate in the IT out-of-hours on-call service rota for user support.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- A Level or equivalent in a technology discipline (Desirable).
- Experience in providing support roles within a policing environment (Desirable).
- Strong management of endpoints and software/application installation via tools such as SCCM or Active Directory (Essential).
- Good analytical skills for effective problem solving (Essential).
- Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications (Windows 10, O365) (Essential).
- Familiarity with network topologies relating to WAN/LAN (Essential).
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage with all levels across the organisation (Essential).
- A full UK driving licence is required, as travel to various sites will be necessary (Essential).
Additional Information:
The successful candidate will have to undergo Police Vetting and the criteria for this is that you have lived within the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application.
