Role Purpose:
As an M365 DevOps Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in enabling product delivery for South Yorkshire Police. Your expertise will help in creating repeatable, scalable, and highly available deployment strategies. You'll be the go-to person for delivery teams, solving complex problems and supporting the design, development, and delivery of M365 solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to scope solutions using the M365 development stack, ensuring a seamless end-to-end process from scoping to delivery.
- Support the design, development, and delivery of M365 SharePoint and Power Platform solutions.
- Manage development components to align with business needs and minimum viable product requirements.
- Identify and implement process optimization opportunities with guidance.
- Embed security controls in all solutions to mitigate potential threats.
- Guide others in applying modern standards and approaches.
- Collaborate with team members to review specifications, design, code, test, and document programs of medium-to-high complexity.
- Champion user research, prioritizing user needs and guiding the team in understanding user stories.
- Define and coordinate systems integration builds, supporting integration testing activities.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience (2+ years).
- Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop a team of DevOps engineers.
- Strong experience in developing and managing technology solutions using the Microsoft 365 Power Platform and SharePoint.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information across diverse technical audiences.
- Practical implementation experience of data security and familiarity with project management methodologies.
- Due to the Police Vetting Criteria you MUST have resided within the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Relevant professional qualifications in Microsoft, Amazon, or Google cloud services.
- Experience in a policing environment.
- Background in developing graduate capabilities within organizations.
