Maintenance Engineer

We are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, effective and compliant operation of maintenance and improvement activities within a busy manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards, while supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a hands-on role that acts as a key link between operations and maintenance teams, helping to drive high standards of safety, performance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring all electrical work is carried out in compliance with company policies, risk assessments and relevant electrical safety legislation.
  • Support the day-to-day activities of the electrical maintenance team.
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance activities to minimise production downtime.
  • Provide hands-on fault diagnosis and rectification of electrical issues.
  • Support preventative maintenance programmes and continuous reliability improvements.
  • Complete electrical documentation, permits, inspections and maintenance records accurately and on time.
  • Assist with plant upgrades, projects, installations and commissioning of new or modified electrical systems.
  • Identify recurring faults and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, mechanical, automation and engineering teams.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and standards.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Electrical qualification with relevant trade certification and/or apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience within an industrial, manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including motors, drives, PLC-controlled equipment, instrumentation and automation interfaces.
  • Understanding of electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures and permit-to-work systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting preventative maintenance programmes and fault-finding in live production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills with a practical, hands-on approach.

Working Hours

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Day Shift: 6:00am to 2:00pm
  • Back Shift: 2:00pm to 11:00pm
  • Friday back shift finishes at 6:00pm
