This innovative tool will facilitate managing and submitting self-assessments to Ofgem regarding Network & Information Systems (NIS) capabilities.

This hands-on role emphasises building scalable and maintainable business applications across the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to shape broader platform functionality, automate workflows, enhance user experiences, and streamline business processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Power Platform solutions that bolster regulatory self-assessment and compliance activities.
  • Build and enhance the CAF Portal for Ofgem/NIS capability assessments.
  • Develop comprehensive solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Create intuitive user experiences, automated workflows, approval processes, notifications, and data capture solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate their needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Produce essential technical documentation, testing evidence, and handover materials for long-term platform ownership.
  • Support integration with approved data sources and existing reporting capabilities.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, including leadership teams and programme stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the platform, ensuring its supportability and maintainability for future expansion.

Required Experience:

  • Strong commercial experience with the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Proven expertise in developing applications with Power Apps.
  • Experience configuring and developing Power Automate workflows.
  • Ability to work across the Power Platform landscape, not limited to Power BI reporting.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering.
  • Proficient in translating business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Power FX, DAX, and SQL querying.
  • Understanding of solution governance, security, and deployment best practises.
  • Experience in producing technical documentation and supporting operational handovers.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience within regulated industries such as utilities, energy, or infrastructure.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, compliance, governance, or risk management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and working with external regulators.
  • Experience with broader Microsoft technologies, including Azure integrations.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modelling.
  • Experience incorporating AI or predictive capabilities into reporting or operational solutions.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess a confidence in engaging with stakeholders, challenge requirements when necessary, and take ownership of delivering high-quality solutions. A broad expertise in the Power Platform, coupled with a willingness to work on a business-critical application, is essential. This role offers the chance to contribute to a platform expected to evolve and expand beyond the initial contract period.
