Programme Manager Analyst

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to work for Thames Valley Police at their location in Thatcham Berkshire.

This is a temporary role for 1 year and they are looking to pay between £350 and £450 per day dependant on experience

You will be working out of their location in Thatcham (as the anchor for the role but expected to work mainly from home with a view to travelling to Thatcham and London for meetings)

The overall purpose of the role is to: provide analytical support to the programme manager, to ensure delivery of change across the full programme lifecycle ensuring that right information is available for effective decision making and to meet governance requirements

Role Responsibilities -

  • Identify blockers, risks, dependencies or potential delays to progress of the programme and realisation of benefits by analysing data from different sources, including RAID logs, workstream highlight reports, financial information (from PFP) and progress updates from construction partners. Collate this information into prescribed reporting format to enable the Programme Manager to inform programme stakeholders in decision making.
  • Create and co-ordinate reporting cycles to meet the strategic governance schedule, ensuring the timely and efficient flow of key data and information through the Programme governance structure
  • Contribute findings of analysis to the development of project Business Cases, other stage gate documentation and other management and control documents. Once developed, ensure that control documentation is maintained and updated regularly.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with contributors and enablers engaged on the programme including CTPHQ's Portfolio Office, Delivery work stream leads, external consultants and contractors.
  • Coordinate and lead business transition workshops ensuring that expected outcomes are achieved and contribute to the overall delivery of the Project or Programme deliverables, products and benefits.
  • Integrate and ensure the Programme Manager and team adhere to best practice and guidance set out by CTP HQ Portfolio Office, fostering continuous improvement, efficiency and compliance with agreed standards, approach and wider strategy of the Change pillar (based upon PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programmes methodologies).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT

  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets for informed decision making

  • Knowledge of or direct experience in applying programme and project management approaches such as MSP and PRINCE2. (appropriate training will be provided as an 'essential' course required for successful execution of the role if not already held by the successful candidate)

  • Experience of establishing and implementing project control mechanisms in a project and/or programme or business environment.

  • Excellent organisational skills to ensure programme governance is met and maintained to approved standards.
  • Confident consultative communication style and experience of report writing for presentation within programme management
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment, adapting to changing programme demands.

  • DV Clearance. Candidates must be prepared to go through the clearance process if not already cleared
