Project Manager - Portfolio Management Tool Implementation (Power Framework)

Rate - £500 - £525 (Daily)

Duration - 3 Months (Initially)

Location - London (Hybrid)

Ir35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of a Portfolio Management tool using the Power Framework. This is a key role requiring a proactive and confident professional who can effectively engage stakeholders, drive delivery, and ensure successful adoption across the organisation.

The successful candidate will have strong project management experience, a solid understanding of programme and portfolio management, and experience working within both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.

While experience within the Higher Education sector would be beneficial, it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of the Power Framework portfolio management tool.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, manage expectations, and drive project outcomes.
  • Facilitate and chair project meetings, workshops, steering groups, and governance forums.
  • Ensure effective communication across project teams and business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with programme and portfolio management functions to align project objectives with strategic priorities.
  • Support change management and user adoption activities throughout the implementation.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and governance requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks and issues to ensure successful delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects as a Project Manager.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing business systems, tools, or technology platforms.
  • Strong understanding of programme and portfolio management principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Confident facilitator with experience leading meetings, workshops, and governance forums.
  • Experience working within both Waterfall and Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience implementing portfolio management or PPM (Project Portfolio Management) tools.
  • Knowledge or experience of the Power Framework.
  • Higher Education sector experience.
  • Relevant Project Management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, AgilePM, PMP, Scrum).
