Location: Richmond & Wandsworth (Hybrid) Department: Adult Social Care & Public Health Working Pattern: Minimum 40% office-based Rate: £23.20 PAYE / £30.29 Umbrella per hour Contract: 3 months (likely extension) Hours: 36 hours per week Interviews: ASAP (subject to response)



About the Role

We are working on behalf of Richmond & Wandsworth Better Service Partnership to recruit a Public Health Data Analyst to support Adult Social Care & Public Health teams.

This is a key analytical role focused on improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities through the effective use of data, insight, and evidence. You will lead on analysing complex datasets, producing high-quality intelligence outputs, and supporting evidence-based decision-making across the councils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse large and complex public health datasets to generate actionable insights
  • Lead on health intelligence projects, applying statistical and epidemiological methods
  • Produce key outputs including dashboards, needs assessments, and strategic reports (e.g. JSNA, Public Health reports)
  • Translate complex data into clear, accessible narratives for stakeholders
  • Manage confidential datasets in line with information governance and GDPR requirements
  • Support evaluation of public health programmes and interventions
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to strategic decision-making
Essential Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience analysing complex public health or health-related datasets
  • Strong technical skills in data tools and visualisation (e.g. Power BI, Excel, SQL, R or Python)
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality public health intelligence outputs (e.g. reports, dashboards, needs assessments)
  • Experience handling and managing confidential data securely in line with governance standards
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical analysis into clear insights for non-technical audiences
Qualifications
  • Degree in Public Health, Economics, Biomedical Science, Statistics, or a related numerate field (or equivalent experience)
