Role: User Experience (UX) Designer

Location: Hybrid / UK

Contract Duration: Initial contract through end of year (High potential for extension)

Industry: Global Technology Leader

Salary: £116,000 per year

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to take end-to-end ownership of user experience strategy and execution for a key platform within a world-leading technology enterprise.

In this role, you will define scalable design approaches to solve complex, ambiguous problems. You will serve as a subject-matter expert in user-centred product development, design systems, and UX frameworks—collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, and Research to deliver innovative, accessible, and high-impact digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Execution & Systems: Drive holistic design processes, leverage design languages, and apply scalable UX frameworks, principles, and pattern systems across product ecosystems.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Partner closely with engineers to communicate, negotiate, and guide design intentions through comprehensive design specs, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Data-Driven UX & Research: Utilize user insights, platform metrics, UX testing, and industry trends to inform design choices, evaluate product impact, and anticipate user needs.
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Strategy: Build consensus across cross-functional partners (Product Managers, Leadership, Engineering), effectively presenting design rationale, storytelling the product vision, and aligning design solutions with core business KPIs.
  • Mentorship & Quality Craftsmanship: Guide adjacent design efforts, challenge prevailing thinking with fresh perspectives, and advocate for high aesthetic standards, accessibility, and user-centricity.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven UX Expertise: Strong background in product design, interactive technology, and navigating the end-to-end product development lifecycle within complex environments.
  • Motion Design & UI Animation: Leverage interactive animation and motion design principles to enhance user interface transitions, communicate functional feedback, and bring digital product interactions to life.
  • Systems Thinking & Craftsmanship: Demonstrated mastery in design systems, interaction patterns, and prototyping tools, paired with strong aesthetic sensibility.
  • Research & Data Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of UX research methodologies, user behavior synthesis, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder management skills—able to articulate complex design rationale clearly to non-design partners.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Comfort navigating ambiguity, resolving technical or strategic constraints, and designing solutions that minimize risk while maximizing user value.
