Combining software engineering with applied AI, you will help turn visual data into practical capabilities and integrate those capabilities into reliable applications. The role offers hands-on involvement across development, testing, integration and performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop and maintain software using C++, C# and Python, selecting the appropriate language for each component.
- Develop, evaluate and improve machine vision models and image-processing algorithms.
- Prepare and validate image datasets for model training and testing.
- Integrate AI models into software applications and processing pipelines.
- Investigate model accuracy, inference speed, memory usage and application performance.
- Develop automated tests for software components and AI functionality.
- Diagnose issues involving image quality, model behaviour and software integration.
- Collaborate with colleagues to translate application requirements into working solutions.
- Document technical decisions, evaluation results and implementation details.
- Commercial software development experience, with strong capability in one or more of C++, C# and Python.
- Practical experience developing computer vision, machine learning or image-processing solutions.
- An understanding of model training, validation and evaluation.
- The ability to write maintainable code and apply sound testing and debugging practices.
- Experience integrating algorithms or models into usable software.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate complex technical problems.
- Clear communication and a collaborative approach.
- Experience working across C++, C# and Python.
- Familiarity with OpenCV and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Object detection, image classification, segmentation or visual inspection applications.
- Real-time processing, GPU acceleration or deployment to edge devices.
- Model optimisation and inference tools, such as ONNX or TensorRT.
- Experience working with cameras, video streams or hardware interfaces.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and AI-assisted coding tools.
You will help deliver machine vision solutions that perform reliably beyond the development environment, with a focus on accuracy, speed and maintainable software.
