Our growing client based in Manchester is looking for an exceptional Senior Product Designer to take ownership of how their product looks, feels, and works as they scale rapidly within the fintech space.
This is a high-impact role in a fast-moving, startup-style environment, where you will play a central part in shaping the next generation of fintech products. The business has strong ambitions to become a market leader over the next 18 months, with a major focus on AI-driven innovation, new product development, and rapid user adoption.
We are looking for someone with a commercial mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and the energy to make a real mark—not just on the product, but on the direction of the company itself.
This is not a purely executional UX role. You will combine strong product thinking, exceptional visual craft, and commercial awareness, taking ideas from early concept through to shipped, scalable experiences.
You will be joining a small, high-impact team where design is central to strategy, not an afterthought.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product design across key fintech products and features
- Identify and shape new product opportunities based on user insight, market trends, and commercial goals
- Drive early-stage ideation, concepting, sketching, and rapid prototyping
- Use lean research and testing approaches to validate ideas quickly and effectively
- Define and maintain a high bar for product quality, usability, and visual excellence
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to shape product direction
- Play a key role in integrating AI capabilities into new and existing product experiences
- Help establish scalable design systems, principles, and ways of working as the company grows
- Contribute to building a strong, high-performance design culture
- Support and mentor other designers as the team expands
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience designing and shipping high-quality digital products in startup or high-growth environments
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance user needs with business outcomes
- Exceptional visual design skills (this is essential)
- Strong product thinking with the ability to simplify complex financial or technical domains
- Entrepreneurial mindset with energy, ownership, and a bias for action
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and shaping problems as well as solving them
- Strong collaboration skills with Product and Engineering teams
- Experience using data, experimentation, and testing to inform design decisions
Desirable
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or regulated environments
- Exposure to AI-driven products or emerging technology experiences
- Experience contributing to or building design systems at scale
- Previous experience mentoring or informally leading other designers
